Shinobu 10 Year Old is a Japanese pure malt whisky finished in Mizunara oak, bottled at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
It is described as smooth and easy to drink, with a spirit that tastes lighter in strength than its age might suggest.
The nose is fresh wood with a touch of vanilla and flowers, bringing a breath of nectar. On the palate are maltose, a little citrus fruit, Mizunara oak and coffee beans, and the medium finish is woody, returning to a sweet maltose note.
