Shizuoka Pot Still W Imported Barley First Edition comes from the Gaiaflow Shizuoka distillery in Japan. It is distilled in the wood-fired 'W' pot still from malted Scottish barley, both peated and unpeated, together with German Pilsner malt. The still is heated directly with conifer wood from the forests of Oku-Shizuoka, and the spirit is distilled at temperatures up to 800°C, a method described as extremely rare. The whisky has a peat level of about 30 ppm.
