This Ardmore was distilled in 2012 and bottled in 2024 by Signatory Vintage, making it a 12 year old Highland single malt at 57.1% ABV (100 proof). It is Edition #21 in the 100 Proof series.
It matured in second fill bourbon barrels that had previously held Islay whisky, which adds a gentle smokiness to the vanilla and toffee of the bourbon wood. The whisky is non-chill filtered and of natural colour, and only a limited number of bottles were released.
The nose offers roasted almonds, citrus peel and a hint of smouldering hearth smoke. On the palate it is creamy, with caramel, candied apple, white pepper and a touch of peat. The finish is long, softly smoky and slightly salty, with a lingering spice.
