This is a 36 year old single grain Scotch whisky from the Lowlands, released by Signatory Vintage in its Cask Strength Collection as Rare Ayrshire, from 1975. It matured for 36 years in a bourbon barrel.
The nose is creamy and zesty, with red berry fruits, apple peel, a hint of toffee and thick vanilla custard. The palate offers cantaloupe melon, rye spice, black forest honey, Madeira cake and citrus.
The finish is black pepper and malt, with a touch of apple strudel.
