Smoke Wagon Desert Colt Full Strength Bourbon (75cl, 58.4%)

Desert Colt Full Strength is a cask-strength, high-rye bourbon from Nevada H&C Distilling Co. in Las Vegas. It is bottled uncut at batch proof, so the strength varies; recent bottlings have been around 58.4%. It is non-chill filtered and comes in a 750ml bottle. The mash bill is 60% corn, 36% rye and 4% malted barley, and the barrels are 4+ years old and aged in the Las Vegas warehouse. Aaron Chepenik developed it from October 2020, blending barrels from several warehouse floors and locations, and it arrived in spring 2024. The tasting notes give candy corn and cherry up front, bold cinnamon and baking spice mid-palate, and buttery oak on the finish.
