Smokehead High Voltage is a cask strength Islay single malt, bottled at 58% in a 70cl bottle. It is a stronger, peatier take on the original Smokehead, and is bottled without chill filtration.
Smokehead is produced by Ian Macleod Distillers, and the distillery behind it is not named.
The nose brings peat smoke, sea salt and charred driftwood, with flashes of citrus and vanilla. The palate is oily and peppery, with dark chocolate, roasted nuts and a tangy citrus edge. The finish is long, smoky and briny, with lingering spice.
