Smokehead High Voltage is a peated single malt Scotch from Islay, in a 70cl bottle at 58% ABV. The nose begins with citrus and a sharp touch of ginger, followed by intense peat and smoke, sea air and porridge, with strong vanilla and caramel adding sweetness.
On the palate, hot smoke gives way to thick maple syrup, hazelnut cream, salted cashews and freshly grated lemon zest. The finish is long and peppery, and the smoke slowly fades to leave a gentle sweetness lifted by a maritime salt note.
