Smokehead High Voltage

A heavily peated Islay single malt from Smokehead, made by Ian MacLeod Distillers, a family company that has existed since 1933. It is unfiltered and uncoloured, and comes in a black metal tube with silver lettering. It is described as a blast of peat, smoke and spice with a fruity note, aimed at those who like their Islay malts young, powerful and wild. The nose has intense smoke, sea air, oats, vanilla and toffee. The palate is smoky, oily, creamy and nutty, with salt and a citrus note. In the finish, sweetness slowly mixes with smoke, with a light saltiness.
