Smokehead is an Islay single malt in a 70cl bottle. The whisky comes from an Islay distillery that is not named, and it is bottled with a strongly smoky, peated profile in mind. The nose is led by dense peat smoke, with sea salt, iodine and a little citrus zest over a subtle sweetness. On the palate the peat moves into medicinal notes, dark chocolate and black pepper, with maritime saltiness, dried fruit and vanilla. The finish is long and smoky, with lasting warmth, spiced oak and a hint of brine.
