Smokehead Unfiltered (46%)

Smokehead Unfiltered is an Islay single malt bottled at 46% without filtration, which sets it apart from the standard Smokehead. It comes from Ian Macleod Distillers, a family-run company. Dense, billowing smoke leads, threaded with oily walnuts, dark chocolate and sharp pepper. On the nose, vanilla and ginger come through the rich smoke. The palate shows oily walnuts, dark chocolate and black pepper seeping through that smoke, and the finish is dry with medicinal herbs.
