Smokehead Unfiltered is an Islay single malt in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 46% without chill filtration. It is made from malted barley, distilled twice and matured for several years in a range of bourbon casks. Smokehead is a brand of Ian Macleod Distillers, which launched it in 2006.
The nose is heavy peat smoke with sea spray and spice. The palate is full-bodied, with nuts, dark chocolate and pepper. Smoke and mild spices carry through a long finish.
