Smokey Joe is a peated Islay malt whisky in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 46% and non-chill-filtered. It was bottled by Angus Dundee Distillers and matured in oak casks. The distillery that made the spirit is not named.
It is built around coastal peat character: smoke, sea air and iodine, with a sweet barley core underneath.
On the nose there is peat smoke, briny air, lemon rind and charred oak. The palate is intense and earthy, with burnt sugar, dried seaweed and cracked black pepper. The finish is long and smoky, with ash, smoked herbs and a clean malted ending.
