A 100% rye whiskey from Sonoma County Distilling Company in California, bottled at 46.5% ABV in a 75cl bottle.
The mash is 80% rye from California and Canada with 20% malted rye from the United Kingdom. It is double distilled in a handmade, direct-fired copper pot still, then matured in new charred American oak barrels and given an additional finish in older wood. It won Gold at the 2022 Sunset International Spirits Competition.
The nose offers mint, eucalyptus, lime zest and dried apricot, with graham cracker and cinnamon underneath. The palate is creamy and sweet, with vanilla ice cream and orange sherbet, then allspice, white pepper and walnut. The finish is medium to long, with rye spice and toasted wood.
