Speyburn – 10 Year Old (70cl, 40%)

Speyburn 10 Year Old is a Speyside single malt, an original bottling at 40% in a 70cl bottle. The light, fruity spirit is matured for ten years in oak casks. It is chill-filtered and coloured, and it is not smoky. John Hopkins founded Speyburn in 1897 in the valley of the Granty Burn near Rothes, and the first cask was filled on the last day of that year. The distillery uses water from the burn and condenses its spirit in traditional worm tubs. The nose combines fresh oranges and red apples with warm cinnamon. On the palate, toffee and butterscotch meet fresh apple pie. The finish is long and sweet, with vanilla and creamy toffee.
