This is an 18-year-old Speyburn single malt from Speyside, an official bottling at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in selected American and Spanish oak casks and is non-chill-filtered, with no added colouring.
Speyburn added the 18-year-old to its range in 2018. The first annual release was dedicated to Bobby Anderson, who had then run the distillery for 18 years.
The nose brings sweet toffee, sugared almonds and ripe tropical fruit, with caramelised apple and a very fine, honeyed smoke. The palate is full and creamy, with dark chocolate, toffee, gentle oak spice and a hint of citrus. The finish is long, bittersweet and lightly smoky.
