This is a 44 year old Speyburn from Speyside, distilled on 13 September 1977 and bottled by Gordon & MacPhail on 17 November 2021 for its Private Collection. It spent its whole life in a single refill sherry butt and was bottled at its natural cask strength of 59.2%. The butt gave 414 bottles of 70cl. The whisky is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. The nose combines restrained sherry with walnut, ginger and cocoa powder. On the palate, honey sweetness meets Medjool dates and demerara sugar, with Seville orange peel and autumnal spice. The long finish brings red apple, black pepper and menthol.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
