Speyburn Hopkins Reserve is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky in a one litre bottle at 46% abv. It was bottled in honour of John Hopkins, founder of the Speyburn Distillery.
The whisky matured in bourbon casks and is non-chill-filtered.
The nose is fresh and sweet, with honey, stewed apple, malt, vanilla and a hint of smoke. The palate starts elegantly, with red apple, lemon zest, sourdough bread, spice and very soft peat smoke. The finish is dry, with hints of tea, grain and nuts.
