Speyburn – Rum Cask (70cl, 40%)

This Speyside single malt from Speyburn in Rothes is matured in bourbon casks and then finished in rum casks. It was the first time the distillery used a rum cask finish, and it joined the refreshed core range in 2024. It is bottled at 40% ABV. Pineapple, mango and warm banana sit alongside green apple and citrus peel, with caramel, cinnamon and vanilla on the sweeter, spicier side. The nose shows pineapple, mango, warm banana, citrus peel, green apple, vanilla and honey. On the palate, tropical fruit meets soft caramel, a light cinnamon note, creamy coconut and vanilla. The finish is fresh, with vanilla lingering.
