Seven Stars No. 2 Merak is the second release in the Seven Stars series from Spirit of Hven, a small family-owned distillery on the island of Hven, Sweden. It is a medium-smoky single malt made from locally produced malt, bottled at 45% in a 50cl bottle.
Only 25 casks were blended for the release, drawn from American, French and Spanish oak.
The nose is aromatic, with liquorice, leather, herbal spice, peat smoke, orange blossom and dark chocolate. The palate is soft, with fudge, vanilla, citrus and gentle smoke, and the finish is long and oily, with smoke, a little tar and spice.
