Mizar is the sixth release in the Seven Stars series from Spirit of Hven, a family-owned distillery on the Swedish island of Hven. This single malt is bottled at 45% ABV in a 50cl bottle.
It is made from lager malt, peated malt and chocolate malt. The spirit matured for seven to ten years in American and French oak, then was married in French oak barriques that previously held Chateau Margaux Premier Grand Cru.
The nose opens with sweet liquorice and vanilla, then light smoke, raisins, cacao, chamomile and violet. The palate has controlled smoke and bright acidity, and the finish is long and vinous, with vanilla, violet and dry smoke.
