Seven Stars No. 6:2 Alcor is a Swedish single malt from Spirit of Hven, made at its distillery on the island of Hven. It is the companion to Mizar and uses the same malt recipe. It began as a plan for a longer Château Margaux cask maturation of Mizar, then grew into a seven-cask marriage that adds whisky matured in Oloroso sherry, Italian dessert wine and Hven vodka casks. It combines peated malt with wine-cask character and is bottled at 45% ABV, non-chill filtered, in a 50cl bottle.
The nose opens with raisins and lightly smoky liquorice, then dark chocolate, roasted coffee and leather. The palate is rounded and full-bodied, with sweet oak, dried fruit and restrained peat smoke. The finish is long and sweet, with soft tannins and gentle smoke.
