This is a new make spirit from Ralph Gemmel in Sankt Augustin, in the Rhineland, in a 50cl bottle. It is a hand-made, freshly distilled malt spirit and the base for his single malt whisky, which was set to mature in cask until 2024.
The name comes from the airport at Hangelar, over 100 years old, and the long-distance aircraft Spirit of St. Louis. It is bottled at 44% ABV, without added colouring and without chill filtration.
