Springbank – 10 Year Old (70cl, 46%)

This is the 10 year old Springbank, a Campbeltown single malt bottled at 46%. It was matured in 60% bourbon and 40% sherry casks. Springbank is lightly peated and distilled two and a half times. It was first bottled in 1828 and is often called the maritime malt for its salty character. The nose is orchard fruit, especially pear, with a hint of peat, vanilla and malt. The palate brings malt, oak, spice, nutmeg, cinnamon and vanilla essence. The finish is sweet, with a lingering salty tingle.
