Springbank 12 Year Old Cask Strength is a Campbeltown single malt bottled at 55.9% in a 70cl bottle. Bourbon maturation shapes it, and the peat influence is apparent from the first nosing.
The nose brings medicinal and aniseed notes with butterscotch, toffee and a creamy, nutty aroma. On the palate, creamy confectionery and toffee meet lemon sponge cake, cream soda and Turkish delight beside delicate peat. The finish carries ginger and lemon zest, with gentle peat smoke.
