A 1965 Springbank from Campbeltown, bottled by Cadenhead's in its Cask Strength white label series at 54.5% ABV. The single malt was laid down in 1965 at the distillery and matured in sherry.
Chocolate runs through the tasting notes. The nose brings chocolaty sherry with old Demerara rum, ristretto coffee, tar liqueur and beef stock, followed by herbs, smoked meat and a little wood smoke. The palate has more chocolate still, filled with orange marmalade and touches of coffee. The finish is long and slightly drier, with tannins like Russian tea and bitter chocolate.
