A Springbank from Campbeltown, distilled in 1967 and matured for 20 years in sherry wood. It was bottled by Cadenhead for Prestonfield House at 46% ABV, in a 75cl bottle.
The nose opens dry and coffee-like, with cooked strawberries, Corinth raisins, rum, smoke and dried oranges, later moving to apricots, lovage and parsley. On the palate it is creamy, with coconut, fruitcake, a little salt and crystallised citrus fruit, then old walnuts, bergamot and quince jelly. The finish is very long, thick and balanced, on smoked and salted small bitter oranges.
