Springbank – 25 Year Old Distilled 1993 Bottled 2019 The Perfect Fifth Equilibrium (75cl, 52.3%)

A 25 year old single cask Springbank from Campbeltown, distilled in 1993 and bottled in 2019 at a cask strength of 52.3%, in a 75cl bottle. Cask 315 gave 522 bottles, released as The Perfect Fifth Equilibrium. The cask is thought to have been seasoned in the old style, recalling Springbank 25 year olds of the early 1990s. Salt leads the nose, followed by dried apricots and spiced pear. The palate brings slowly building peat, smoke and chocolate, with a rich, oily middle. The finish is long, with lemon and barley sugar.
