This St Kilian is a 6 year old German single malt, selected by Adelphi and bottled at 58% in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled in 2017 and bottled in 2024.
It comes from a single first-fill Madeira cask, number 1868, which gave 394 bottles. The character is marked, mixing marine, fruity and smoky notes with a spicy intensity.
The nose runs from herring, white balsamic vinegar and scallop to seaweed, fresh green apple, birch forest and strong cider. The palate brings pickled jalapeño, shallot, compost, chilli flakes, old rum and mushroom, and the finish is spicy and bold.
