St. Kilian – Judas Priest Invincible Shield Single Malt (70cl, 47%)

This is a German single malt from St. Kilian Distillers, bottled at 47% vol. in a 70cl bottle. It takes its name from the Invincible Shield studio album by the heavy metal band Judas Priest. The whisky was matured in oak casks, including ex-Bourbon and sherry casks. The edition is limited to 7,850 bottles. The nose shows ripe apples and pears with vanilla, caramel and a fine oak spice. The palate is full and intense, with sweet malt, vanilla, dried fruit and balanced wood. The finish is long and warming, with spice, vanilla and oak.
