This is a peated German single malt from St. Kilian, bottled by The Caskhound as a single cask release of 348 bottles. It was distilled in February 2018 and carries a declared age of 4 years and 9 months.
The whisky matured in an oak cask that previously held Eisbock beer. It is bottled at 60.3% ABV, non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
The nose is warm campfire smoke with roasted chestnuts, honey mead, malty beer and a little yeast dough. The palate opens peppery, then moves to honey, mead and biscuit dough, with roasted malt, resinous notes and a warm thread of smoke. The finish is medium and warming, with smoke, cocoa powder and drying wood.
