Stag's Leap Wine Cellars S.L.V. Cabernet Sauvignon 2004 Napa Valley (75cl)

This is the 2004 S.L.V. Cabernet Sauvignon from Stag's Leap Wine Cellars in Napa Valley, California, in a 75cl bottle. The S.L.V. vineyard was planted in 1970 and sits on volcanic soils, which give the wine spice, concentration and a stony minerality. It is a full-bodied, estate-grown red. The colour is deep ruby turning to garnet and brick at the rim. The nose is restrained but complex, with black cherry, sandalwood, truffle and nutmeg, plus earth and cedar from age. The palate is firm and concentrated, with dark cherry and cassis, resolved tannins and a savoury, stony undertone. The finish is long, closing on earth, dried fruit and spice.
