This is an Australian single malt from the Starward Distillery in Melbourne, bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle. It carries the number 7 and has a ginger beer cask finish. Starward draws on the thinking of brewers and winemakers, and uses ingredients from its own region. Most of its whisky matures in lightly charred or steamed red wine barrels from Australian wineries, where three years is enough for a fruity maturity. Melbourne's changeable weather, with an average of up to 22.5°C, drives that quick ageing.
