Starward Solera is an Australian single malt from Melbourne, Victoria, bottled at 43% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It is matured only in Australian Apera casks, arranged in a solera system.
The whisky is made from 100% Australian malted barley, fermented for 69 to 72 hours with brewers' and distillers' yeasts, then double pot distilled. The solera method means each bottle holds a trace of the distillery's original cask.
The nose offers tropical and orchard fruit with caramel and vanilla. On the palate come crème brûlée, stewed figs, prune and raisins, with toasted almonds and baking spice. The finish is juicy and full, ending in dry spice and warm oak.
