Starward – Solera (70cl, 43%)

Starward Solera is an Australian single malt whisky in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 43%. It was the first whisky released by the distillery. It is matured in Apera barrels, red wine barrels that take their name from the Australian style of fortified wine similar to sherry. The nose is sweet, with caramel, red fruit, dried fruit and wood. The palate starts sweet and fruity before turning drier and spicier, with apple, crème brûlée and caramel. The finish is warm, with berries, malt and spice.
