Starward – Tawny Cask (70cl, 50%)

This is a single malt from the Starward distillery in Melbourne, Australia, bottled at 50% in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled in 2018 and bottled in 2022, and it is non-chill-filtered and free of added colour. The whisky is finished in tawny wine casks, in keeping with the distillery's ties to local wine. The nose is rich and lively, with ripe berries, cherries and a little oak. The palate is full and sweet, with vanilla and dried fruit. The finish is long, warm and fruity, with fine spice.
