Starward – Tawny (50cl, 48%)

Starward Tawny is a limited edition Australian single malt in a 50cl bottle at 48%. It is made in the same way as Starward Nova, from the distillery's double distilled single malt spirit, produced with Australian barley and brewer's yeast. The difference lies in the maturation. The whisky spends its whole time in 100-litre octave barrels that previously held Tawny fortified wine. The official notes describe a rich nose of dried orange, fig and toasty oak, a sweet palate of dried fruit and nutmeg, and a slow, balanced finish with lingering dry spice.
