Starward – Vintage 2018 Finished in Ginger Beer Casks #7 (48%)

This is a single malt from Starward in Melbourne, distilled in 2018 and released as Ginger Beer Cask No. 7. The spirit first matured in Australian red wine casks, then received a finish in casks that had held ginger beer. It is bottled at 48%. Allspice, sweet cinnamon and lemon zest show on the nose. The palate is full and lively, with candied ginger, tropical pineapple and soft vanilla. The finish is of medium length, with dark chocolate and oak spice.
