This is a Danish rye whisky from Stauning, distilled on 9 September 2016 and bottled in June 2020 at 52.4% ABV in a 50cl bottle. It dates from the distillery's experimental period.
A Madeira cask finish sits over the spicy rye character, and the whisky is unfiltered. It was released as a limited edition.
The nose has dark fruit, raisins, spicy rye, wood and a distinct wine influence. On the palate, peppery rye meets sweet Madeira, cloves and cocoa, with a slightly drying woody texture. The finish is long, warm and spicy, with lingering wine sweetness.
