Stauning Bastard is a Danish rye whisky from Skjern, bottled at 46.3% in a 70cl bottle. It is made from local ingredients, malted on the floor at the distillery and double-distilled in flame-heated pot stills.
The whisky spends at least three years in new, toasted virgin American oak, then at least six months in old mezcal casks from Oro de Oaxaca in Mexico.
It is described as having a gentle, exotic aftertaste.
