Stauning – El Clásico (70cl, 45.7%)

Stauning El Clásico is a Danish rye whisky from West Jutland, bottled at 45.7% ABV in a 70cl bottle. After maturation, it was finished in vermouth casks. The idea came from the Manhattan cocktail, where rye and sweet vermouth have long worked well together. The distillery wanted to capture that pairing in the whisky itself. The result is deep amber in colour. It tastes warm and intense, with fresh-harvested grain and a spicy, bittersweet turn. The aftertaste is sweet with a bitter hint of herbs.
