Stauning Floor Malted Rye is a Danish rye whisky from Stauning Whisky, made on Denmark's west coast near the village of Stauning. It is made from locally sourced rye and barley, floor-malted at the distillery, then double distilled in small direct-fired copper pot stills. It matured for about three to four years in virgin American white oak barrels and is bottled at 48% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The nose leads with freshly baked rye bread, sweet fruit and a hint of pepper. The palate brings dried fruit, ripe cherry, vanilla, citrus peel and peppery oak. The finish is long and smooth, with sweetness, vanilla and warming rye spice.
