Stauning – Smoke

Stauning Smoke is a lightly smoked single malt that reflects the distillery's New Nordic approach to whisky. It is made only with local ingredients, malted on open floors and smoked over locally sourced peat and heather. The malt is distilled twice in small pot stills heated by direct flame, then matured in first-fill wine and spirit casks. The smoke is subtle, and the whisky is described as carrying the character of the dunes, the heath and the North Sea wind. The nose is gentle bonfire smoke with citrus and honey, recalling heather moorland and bees. On the palate come tobacco, nuts, vanilla and fresh herbs.
