Suntory AO World Whisky (70cl, 43%)

Suntory AO is a blended malt that brings together whiskies from Ireland, Scotland, America, Canada and Japan. The name comes from the Japanese word for blue, a reference to the oceans that join the five whisky regions. Suntory's chief blender, Shinji Fuwa, selects the whiskies by hand. It is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. The colour is amber. The nose is fruity, with vanilla or pineapple, creamy sweetness and a rich, woody note. The palate is smooth and sweet, with smoke and cinnamon-like spice emerging slowly. The finish combines sweetness, a little smoke and spicy wood.
