Suntory Hakushu 12 Year Old 100th Anniversary Edition (70cl, 43%)

Hakushu 12 Year Old 100th Anniversary Edition is a Japanese single malt from the Hakushu distillery, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It marks 100 years of Japanese whisky making at Suntory, which began with Yamazaki in 1923, rather than a century of Hakushu itself. The distillery was founded in 1973. The whisky is a vatting of malts matured for at least twelve years in a range of cask types. Hakushu is known for a fresh, green style with only a light touch of smoke, alongside herbs and citrus fruit. On the nose there are basil, pine needles and green apple. The palate brings sweet pear, mint and kiwi, and the finish has green tea, gentle sweetness and soft smoke.
