An 18 year old single malt from Suntory's Hakushu distillery in Japan, in a 70cl bottle. The distillery was built in 1973, the year of Suntory's 50th anniversary, and stands among pine forests close to the Japanese Alps.
At 700 metres above sea level, distillation takes place at naturally low pressure, which is said to contribute to the light, fruity style of the whiskies made here.
