Suntory Yamazaki Distiller's Reserve 100th Anniversary Edition

Yamazaki Distiller's Reserve 100th Anniversary Edition is a single malt released to mark a century of whisky-making at Yamazaki, Japan's oldest malt whisky distillery, on the outskirts of Kyoto. It is made from malted barley only, with water from the Rikyū no Mizu spring. The whisky is aged in American oak, Spanish oak sherry casks and Japanese Mizunara oak. American oak brings vanilla and honeyed sweetness, the sherry casks add dried fruit and spice, and the Mizunara gives incense-like notes with a touch of sandalwood. The nose offers fresh berries, orchard fruits and vanilla. On the palate come red apple, honey and light spice, with a clean finish of sweet fruit and gentle spice.
