Talisker 10 Year Old is an Island single malt from the Isle of Skye, bottled at 45.8% in a 70cl bottle. It is part of Diageo's Classic Malts series and is matured for a minimum of 10 years in American oak casks.
The nose is fresh and fragrant, with thick, pungent peat smoke, sweet pear and apple peel, and a little maritime salt from kippers and seaweed. Black pepper, a touch of brine and dry barley follow, with orchard fruit giving balance on the palate.
The finish is long, with bonfire embers, toasted malt and a sugary sweetness underneath.
