Talisker – 10 Year Old (70cl, 45.8%)

This is a 10 year old single malt from Talisker on the Isle of Skye, bottled at 45.8% in a 70cl bottle. Talisker is known for a peppery character and a almost volcanic force, which one taster likened to the lava of the Cuillins, the rugged mountains of Skye. The distillery stands on the west of the island at Loch Harport, on a site once used to make tweed. It was founded there in 1831 after several failed attempts elsewhere, and extended in 1900. It was triple distilled for a long time, until the switch to double distillation in 1928.
