This 2020 Special Release is an 8 year old Talisker from Skye, bottled at a natural cask strength of 57.9% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is the first Talisker to be finished in pot-still Caribbean rum casks.
The rum casks add dark, exotic sweetness to the distillery's marine scents and peppery character.
The nose has deep caramel, sea salt, dry seaweed and warm sand on a smoky barbecue base. The palate is smooth and very rich and sweet, before heat builds with salt and chilli pepper. The finish is smoky, peppery and drying.
