Teeling 21 Year Old Rising Reserve 3 (46%)

This is the third release in Teeling's Rising Reserve series, a 21 year old Irish single malt in a limited edition of 6,000 bottles. It is bottled at 46% ABV and is not chill-filtered. The whiskey spent over 18 years in ex-Bourbon casks, then three more years finished in Ruby Port casks. The nose is softly sweet, with caramel, red fruits and a hint of sandalwood. On the palate come brown sugar, chocolate, trifle, Christmas cake, cherry and plum. The finish is long, with golden syrup, soft tannins, cooked barley and oak spice.
